I was actually downloading the new greatest hits --- and listening to Whitney sing. My GOODNESS. I forgot how much she could blow.
I almost feel offended that people like Xtina, etc.... are mentioned along with her as one of our defining voices, because it's not a fair comparison. Whitney's voice was so commanding and rich. Listening to all these songs today, I honestly forgot what singing was until I went back through her discography.

Btw, is it just me or did Jennifer not almost sound identical to Whitney in that snippet?! I didn't realize they switched from Whitney to her singing it at first.

I agree. What's interesting though is if you listen to Queen Of The Night, for example, you'll actually hear a resemblance between their voices. You can tell Whitney was a big influence on Christina as a vocalist.
