Why does liquid water need to exist? Maybe there's something else like water (maybe there's no such a thing as water, gas, solid, it may be COMPLETELY different), and everything maybe based on something else, instead of carbon as it does here.

This. Just because we need water/air to survive, doesn't mean other life forms do. They could survive on sulfuric acid and ****ing argon or something.

It will happen! Whatever planet finds the other one first will be the one to attack because they have superior technology. Do you think aliens would travel light years for peace? Would you travel to Haiti to say hi to a native? NO LEMFORD. You would go to china if you needed something, not just because you wanted to say "let's have peace chinos!" And then leave.

This is so interesting, but would we really be able to live there? The article states that its' mass is 7 times that of earth, which means that gravity would be a much larger force.

Being 7x size of Earth yet closer to the star it's orbiting than Earth to our sun.

This will be interesting when the planet gets photographed.
