I had some ignorant ass hole just say that social security should be removed completely and that all the old and disabled people should just somehow magically save up their money and put them into funds. I reminded him how these people also pay taxes and he retorted back with why they don't save it instead. BECAUSE THEY HAD TO PAY TAXES GROWING UP YOU DUMBASS. I swear rich people live in an alternative distorted reality.

They all have this vision that the only people who EVER use welfare are black women. And they just hog it up and use it for decades. Another thing basically started by Reagan with the "welfare queen" BS.

And if I'm not mistaken, any money given to you by the government is welfare. So financial aid is a form of welfare.

I get scared when this subject comes up. My parents are both Old and disabled all of out income comes from the government if they cut off this stuff I will be living on the street.

The government's job is to help it's citizens but there's a limit. The government should help but it shouldn't come to the point where they are relying fully on the government and aren't trying to help themselves by getting a job.

I agree 100%. If the person who is struggling is trying to get on their feet, then the government should help. If the person is going to leech on the system and not contribute anything to society then it becomes a big problem.

Misocnceptions: Social Security and Medicare are not entitlements...You paid into the system so you are allowed to get paid when your time has come to collect. That is why it should be privatized and not just in general funds.

And the middle class will rapidly disappear. I guess rich people are fine with that though.
