I'm not familiar with Del Rey's stuff but if that is true then Lana borrows from Sia. Come to think of it, Lana's singing in "Born To Die" sounds somewhat Sia-ish.
I hear so much Sia in "Diamonds."

I do think it was slightly influenced by Lana's other videos but the director worked with her TWICE and spent time with her of course he will be influenced by her, that's what directors do, they get inspired.
However if he says he wasn't I will also believe him
Anyway, when ATRL points out something very Lana Del Rey-ish, they just deny it and pull out that she's only a tumblr celeb card IDK why
Yes we all know Lana did not invent those stuffs, but why would some people say they are reminded of Lana? No one was really reaching aside from the exagerrated tumblr gifs.

I believe what causes concern is that this baroque sound, combined with
"lovers lost" visual themes was not brought to the forefront again until
Lana Del Rey. So the comparisons have some ground.
Lana is surely doesn't much reckon in the american public, in lack of radio airplay, as she should.
But as a highly creatve mind she is reckon by other cerative artists in the industry, so there is for me no doubt about it that there is an influence by her in todays music business.
