We just got the above email via an Apple employee from Tim Cook showing that the Cupertino company is looking after those on the other coast of the US. Apple will donate $2.5M to the Red Cross to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims. Apple previously set up a Page in iTunes for donating directly to the Red Cross and Apple says that they’ve collected millions from both Apple customers and employees.

Apple, under Tim Cook has increased its charitable giving and this latest effort is just one example of a more generous Apple.

Not the Apple CEO starting a sentence with "and"

She (Gaga) as one Person donated 1 million. Apple, the biggest company in the world could have given more. But at least its more then what the prior would have given.

Not only that, but the sentence doesn't even make sense. I think he skipped a word accidentally.

Even Gaga has done more for this world in her little time as a superstar then Apple with this gesture. (not literally but still pft)

This is an addition to the millions from employees and consumers have given. This is an extra gift from the board. Do you really have to complain about every thing? Where are the donations from extremely rich Steve Ballmer or the CEOs of Google? Apple actually put donations up for this and Haiti and other disasters that have occurred while other companies haven't. You seem a bit on the extreme obsessed side.

Google gave 1m to Haiti and Microsoft $1.5m (who uses Foxconn for Xboxes) who actually need more money than the Sandy victims because so many people were already homeless. Where were those complaints?

Can you hope off Apple's dick? they didn't HAVE to give anything, but the employees wanted to give a little extra. They already raised a ton from the iTunes donation pool.

Bill and Miranda Gates Foundation, and philatrophy is pretty much ingrained into Microsoft itself (over 1 billion dollars in charity over 30 years through employees)
