- After hearing about Bamboo Shoots, a bizarre titled band, performing, I had to stay and watch the performance. I actually liked their sound! They reminded me of Hellogoodbye and The Lovemakers, so that was interesting. It has an electric feel to it but with some pop/rock feel to them. The reason I chose this song was because in the beginning, and throughout the song, you can hear drums and I personally like to believe they were tablas which sort of intrigued me. Also, the song overall has a beautiful feel to it.

Big D and the Kids Table - Strictly Rude

- When I heard this song, I could not stop replaying it. The relaxing feel is so nice and the fact that it is not the typical slow song really interests me. It actually seems like raggae but with a rock-ish feel to it. According to Wikipedia, this song was influenced greatly by "Uptown Top Ranking" by Althea & Donna... I know which song I will need to check out.

Kelly Clarkson - Never Again

- I usually like Kelly Clarksons stuff but I never got that immediate awesome feeling for this song like I did with most of her songs. For some reason, her performances on Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel really helped and I am glad, because this is a really good song and I do like her voice a lot.

Imogen Heap - Loose Ends

- This song just randomly came up and I sort of remembered what got me into the song. It was a nice feeling and the fact that she has such a great voice definitely helped. What a catchy yet interesting song. Not to mention, as a random fact, Zach Braff is a fan of hers

Marilyn Manson - Heart-Shaped Glasses (When The Heart Guides The Hand)

- I love the strong rhythm in this song. The lyrics are sort of nice too but admittedly, just the feel of the song can easily pull me in.

Queens Of The Stone Age - 3's & 7's

- One of the latest songs by Queens, for Europe, and it is definitely Queens. I like how you can tell that it is them because of this certain sound that they always have yet not expect to hear the same old thing either. It took me a while to really focus on the lyrics and not the music, so I guess that is why it finally stuck.

Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner

- I just recently caught VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders (2003) marathon and it reminded me of this song, among others. The reason why this song stuck out was because it is still cool that the background music, that DNA helped with, was based around her capella version. Still, I personally like the a capella version more, but it is still interesting. Another thing interesting would be how apparently she will be releasing a new album soon, entitled Beauty & Crime. I will definitely check that out whenever.This has been a very insane week. Heck, even last week was a bit off. With the school year finally coming to an end in a few weeks, things will only get more insane. I cannot wait... yay. Anyway, hope everyone is having/will have a great weekend!

- I randomly heard them on Jay Leno just recently and they have an interesting feel to them. I would not say unique, entirely, but I knew immediately that I had to check them out again. This is their latest single and the song has such a summer feel to it. Actually, the exact song that I got reminded of was Youngstown - Away With The Summer Days for some reason. Wow. The vocals seem familiar too but I have no idea why. Could it be because the frontman is the son of Sting?! They are even set to tour with The Police later this year. Now that has to be one insane tour with both father and son...

Jimmy Fallon - Car Wash For Peace

- Jimmy Fallon has a new song! I loved his comment on Jay Leno about how "no one likes war and no one likes dirty cars." How true, seeing even Bill Clinton joked about this song after his performance. What a great not-so-serious song about a serious situation.

- Björk had performed this on Saturday Night Live a while ago, along with her first single for this album, Earth Intruders. Ever since, it sort of stuck in my head but just recently there was something that made me appreciate it even more. The album is still great but I love when I randomly like certain songs more than I did before..

- Just this week my Physics teacher started going over the birth of stars and stuff, and each time he said "black holes," I thought of this song. Honestly, I just wanted to add "sun" to the end of each sentence! Hahaha. I knew I had to include this classic song this week.

The String Quartet - Lullaby

- When I realized Lullaby by the Cure had strings, I was very excited. Honestly, that made the song so so much better, even though the Cure in general are very awesome. Well, when I found this tribute, Lullaby was the first song I looked for it. Luckily, The String Quartet covered it and my gosh, I find it just as entrancing as the original. Sure, you cannot replace Robert Smith's vocals, but this definitely had the same feel of the overall song, seeing the music arrangement seems to be very similar.

Supersystem - Not the Concept

- Another one of those electronic-ish songs, except I think they were aiming for rock? All I know is that the chorus is very catchy. Now that I think of it, the song also seems to remind me of my Physics lessons this week. Crazy.Okay, this week was not better than last week, but it was different. I think that works. I think this is when it all starts to break down, seeing yesterday the senior class got their cap and gowns. Oh, the waiting. The songs make it worthwhile though. Have a great weekend, everyone!

- Now with New ****ographers, I have no reason to be excited about their new single, despite how calm their sound might be and how much I like their lyrics. I honestly have not heard enough stuff by them, and while I realize that, I continue to be lazy and here I am. Defending why I should not be enjoying this, haha.

- Tegan and Sara have a new single out! I think that is all that needs to be said, other than how I really do not have much to say, other than that it has been a while (as in years) since I heard something new by them. The nice thing is that it sounds like stuff from So Jealous but with something more to it. I am not quite sure, but I do think it would have worked as a song on So Jealous, their last album.Althea And Donna - Uptown Top Ranking

- I said I would check out this classic, and I did! It was totally worth it. This definitely has the raggae feeling and the way the girls sang added to the effect! I am not sure if I like the cover more, because I could understand the cover more easily, but both are great.

Amy Winehouse - Hey Little Rich Girl

- For some reason, all of her songs really take a long time to grow on me. Just when Rehab was growing on me, I found this, and somehow this grew on me much faster. I love the fun feel of this song and her voice is certainly interesting, in a good way.

Brand New - Jesus Christ

- I randomly like the stuff from Brand New, despite never being a huge fan of theirs. This song also took a while to grow on me, but the way certain parts of the chorus was emphasized was nice. It is just relaxing for some reason, and if not that, I enjoy singing those parts!

Fiction Plane - If Only

- I was so obsessed with this book back when I had to read it in middle school. I always imagined one of the famous lines to have this certain rhythm to it, and Fiction Plane got it almost exactly! It is insane, but they made this song based on exactly what was said in the book, and I just find that so interesting.

Natalie Cole - This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)

- I never truly realized how old this song was until now. Almost every romantic comedy I have seen has it and it is just a sweet song. It really fits in with almost all of them, except for Taxi, which was not a romantic comedy anyway. However, it was one of the reasons I could not stop playing it, because other than the sweet movies, hearing a guy singing that while trying to gain courage is definitely interesting, haha.

Queens of the Stone Age - Make It Wit Chu

- Another song from the latest album! I am not sure why the chorus reminds me of another song, but it is definitely an interesting song. So far I like what I have heard of the album, so I cannot wait to fully check it out whenever I can!Somehow this week ended up being really different too. Weird. It was totally worth it all though. Tomorrow morning will be worth it too, especially I end up having good conversations about books like The Gift of Fear and am enjoying great songs like these! Everyone, have a great weekend!
