Her influence on pop is astounding and the only pop star that could have a chance of matching that sometime in the near future is Beyonce. Britney is still the queen of modern pop. She made the world forget about other songs when HIAM was released almost 2 years ago after 13 years and the fact that she's still recognized after that very public negative breakdown speaks for itself. The world is interested in her. She may not be selling as big as before but the hype behind her is always bigger than the hype of the other pop girls. She's just magical.

Outside of poptards and people over or below the age of 25 who were tweens during her prime, nobody considers Britney Spears a legend

Unlike legends such as Michael, Bob Marley, Elvis etc whose influence as transcended throughout generations, ages, etc.

Ask anyone over the age of 25 or under the age of 16 to name you something legendary about Britney Spears...some of them probably won't even recognize anything regarding Britney aside from her breakdown.

Ask those same people about real music legends (MJ, The Beatles, Elvis, etc.)
