The urban tracks that are front-loaded in the album turned me off initially (Rihanna talking about how she has money and "doesn't give a ****" doesn't really appeal to me), but based on the snippets alone, the remaining half of the album really blossoms into something really amazing. I really feel like this could be her statement piece.
And I can't even believe myself when I say this, but I actually really like that song she does with Chris Brown.
The 90s dance production is sharp yet playful, and CB's own presence (again based on the snippet) feels far less jarring and abrasive than on the Cake Remix.
