Avril Does Shady Interview, Drags Gaga, Rih and Xtina

Avril Lavigne has been around singing about bad boyfriends, skater boys, and happy endings for over ten years. As I prepare to interview Canada’s pop princess backstage at her fiance's concert in London, I notice Avril stumbling backstage. I spot her finishing a bottle of Jack Daniels with one of her girl friends. Ten minutes later, Avril approaches me for the planned audio interview backstage. She sits down on a chair located at the back of the room – she’s noticeably drunk.
Your fifth album album is coming out soon. What can we expect from you?
AL: It’s going to be different than my previous records. It's still a pop-rock record, but will explore topics I've never sang about before, including addiction, sex, rejection, and even spirituality.
Who have you worked with on the fifth album?
AL: I’ve worked with my fiancé Chad and guitarist David Hodges. We call ourselves “The Tripod”. I've also worked with The Runners on some more radio-friendly songs...they’ll probably be the singles.
Your last record Goodbye Lullaby wasn’t as commercially successful as your first three albums. Were you disappointed?
AL: No, I didn’t even care. I love that album. It means a lot to me. Although, it's funny, I didn't even get a major hit from Goodbye Lullaby, a record I worked really hard on, yet artists like Rihanna get hits from an album produced in what, two months?
Wait, so what do you think of hit artists such as Rihanna?
AL: I mean, at the end of the day, we're different artists. I take my time with my records. I co-write all of my songs. I'm involved with the production. Rihanna is someone who constantly churns out new music with no creative control over her records. Does she even write her own songs? I will tell you something about me though. Since the beginning of my career, I told myself I would never be a puppet of my record label like many female artists in the industry.
Has your new record label asked you to change anything to ensure your music is more appealing to the general public?
AL: That's a major reason why I made the switch to Epic Records. LA Reid let's me do my thing. So far, he loves the new record. I won’t let the label tell me what to do, I’m not going to arrive at the Grammys in an egg or cross-dress so people will buy my records. That’s not me. And the thing about Lady Gaga, I used to really like her. I actually went to The Monster Ball last year. Anyways, I ran into her two weeks ago in Paris while she was there for her tour. Oddly enough, we were staying at the same hotel, and I ran into her while waiting for the elevator. I thought I'd be nice and say hello. She just ignored me and acted like I wasn't there. But, I don't let instances like that bug me.
How do you feel the music industry has changed since you first came onto the scene?
AL: It’s the exact ****ing same dude. Everyone wants you to have big boobs and a fat ass. I tell them, no, I’m not going to get a boob job. Maybe I’ll just gain weight like Christina Aguilera, that’ll piss them right off. [Laughs]
So, when can we expect the new single Avril?
AL: Well I’m releasing a single in Japan in November first called ‘How You Remind’. It’s a Nickelback cover. I’ll be releasing my first single in January or February. I'm really excited!
At this point Avril gets up and is ushered to another room. We’re told by a man who we’re assuming is part of her entourage that it was nice seeing us but we’re not to publish the interview. We’re not given permission and we leave disappointed. Avril appears to have been a bit too drunk and gave a bit too much information out. We’re feeling pretty pissed that we wasted our time and have decided to post the interview anon. We don’t want to get sued by publishing the interview in our magazine anyway! We hope you enjoy, and we hope you learned your lesson Avril. Do your interviews sober in future!!

But she's the head bitch, so she can really do what she wants.
