It's definitely not a vegetable nor a fruit. Grain sounds right.

Depends on which form it's in and which way it's being used. Corn on the cob/canned corn = vegetable. Dried corn being turned into corn meal then being made into corn muffins or cereal = grain.

Does it matter that much? It tastes good to me, and that's why I eat it!
