The mother lifted him up onto a fairly large wall (at least 4' tall) on a platform that is above the display (if I remember correctly), and he was too far into it and fell in. They aren't sure if he died from the fall or the attack.

Another reason that zoos shouldn't exist. Wild animals should not be held captive.

Sanctuaries have reasons to exist, but NOT zoos. These animals are not meant to be in cages, no matter how nice, and zoo accidents only happen because these incredibly dangerous animals are within such close proximity to people. These beautiful creatures are not to blame, it's the mindset that animals are here for our entertainment that is to blame.
This is like a scene from a horror movie. Can you imagine how the mother feels having to watch that.... I'm gonna cry.
