Billboard is a joke. They need to separate their records in singles & without featuring credits to be representative of "history" and not just the past few year of digital sales.
Congrats to her for having so many entries, but it certainly pales in comparison to what Madonna has accomplished with her entries.

They should have definitely noted that album tracks weren't able to chart pre-digital era. Taylor's accomplishment is impressive, but her tying Madonna's and Dionne's record is hardly "WOW! OMG!!!".

I agree. That distinguishing should be made she they are always quick to shade point out other asterisks with other accomplishments.

Without feature credits...that is representative of history but you congratulate Tswift (who I love) that has most of her singles on the list charting for less than 1 month. I mean...life changes and so do rules. It's not life or death.

In digital age, if you are very hot at the moment, you can send countless songs onto Hot 100 with every album release and re-release and bonus track release, and what not.
In the past, no matter how hot you were, you could only chart 4-5 songs per album.
So it's not an accurate representation of "history".

The Beatles charted 14 tracks in 1964 when charts weren't even based on sales...

Nobody's reaching to discount her achievements. It's a valid point that Billboard, for most of its history, had not allow album tracks to chart. So, while this is impressive for Taylor, it's rather arbitrary and misleading.

I guess so. Even without her album tracks, she has 35.
It's so much easier to chart today than it was. The digital era made things much easier. Artists from the 60s shouldn't be compared to artists in the digital era. But congrats.
But i can see Taylor snatching Aretha's spot in about the next 2-3 years
