Google/Motorola slips out of top 10 smartphone vendors. Lenovo takes third place.
In the 24 months to December 2012, around 915m iPhones, Android phones and tablets will have been sold. At the current rate of growth, which shows no signs of slowing, there will be twice as many of these smart mobile devices as there are broadband lines within a year.
Crazy how things have changed. Nokia barely hanging on to the top 10 and Motorola slipping out. It's basically Samsung vs. Apple. Nobody else really matters in the scheme of things.
I'd hope they would considering a lot of the SGSIII sales were in this quarter and the iPhone 5 sales were only 9 days of the quarter. The holiday quarter is gonna be huge for
both companies. Especially since Samsung sells a lot of appliances and TVs during the holidays
Yes they were. They were the best selling vendor for 14 years from 1998-2011. And this is the first time theyve fell out of the Top 5 since IDC started tracking (2004). That's not an easy title to get back so I don't see it happening.
"Smart Phone" this is not "Mobile Phone" sales
On Mobile Phone sales, they are still second behind Samsung.
