Gurl, just deal with the fact that Amerie will remain a one hit wonder forever. She already peaked with her 2nd album.
And how could you forget than Tina was part of one of the most successful duos of all time with her then husband Ike? They've got plenty of hits together.
They actually have the same number of hits pre-5th album but I'm not going to argue with u. Your sole purpose was to be negative and I'm not going to give u the reaction. God bless.
this entire post is ignorance at its best. Ameriie was never influenced by Beyonce. If u were a fan and knew behind the scenes infomation like I do. U'd know Ameriie was going for a faster sound way before CIL happened. Her and Rich were already working on a hot new sound as she always fuses different elements in her music, thats why first album had heavy samples from 50s-70s. You clearly are misinformed because though Ameriie does respect her contemporaries no way does she look up to Beyonce. You guys give Beyonce too much credit for something Janet, Tina, etc did way before her. So no Ameriie wasn't influence by her. Your whole post is just sad. Its seriously makes me question your age as u can't recall music after 00s.
Working on a new sound? You mean the funk inspired sound? So why didn't she grab up CIL in 2002? Rich was shopping it around and nobody wanted it, that's when Bey took it. That would suggest to me that she didn't want that sound either. Anyway, obviously CIL started a new trend. Jlo, Usher, Toni and Amerie all followed.

Since when exactly is being realistic connected with negativity?
And I like Amerie, this performance was so cute, she slayed the other 2 girls:
There are some good points raised, but I don't think she is the modern day Tina Turner.
I can't say for certain but I'm pretty sure that Ike and Tina Turner had more of a following in the 60s and 70s than Ameriie has had, and they've released a significant amount more of hits and memorable songs than Ameriie has.
I guess if you go by solo work, then they are more similar but you can't just cut out the Ike and Tina Turner story, that's a pretty significant body of work under Tina's belt.
Now if you're talking about the artistry of the two, I can better see the comparison, especially with 1 Thing but like someone mentioned before Beyonce did it first and it wasn't with Crazy in Love, it was with Work It Out.
And while the who-did-it-first conversation could go on and on, it comes down to who did it better, and I think that Beyonce better matches Tina's performance styles if we are going to call anyone a modern Tina Turner.
Working on a new sound? You mean the funk inspired sound? So why didn't she grab up CIL in 2003? Rich was shopping it around and nobody wanted it, that's when Bey took it. That would suggest to me that she didn't want that sound either. Anyway, obviously CIL started a new trend. Jlo, Usher, Toni and Amerie all followed.
Before 2003
After 2004
I see or hear no Tina Turner.
Is there a member mute or ignore button becuase the delusions in this post. Beyonce isn't no has she ever been original. She does not inspire anyone besides her stans. Ameriie was working on funk sound since late 02. If u were a fan u'd know that. You are making an observation from a far. You clearly don't know anything because Rich & Ameriie were working on funk way before Beyonce, 1 Thing would've been released before CIL if Ameriie wasn't venturing into movies. So please stop while you're ahead sir.

Released in 2002, produced by the Neptunes, sung by Beyonce Knowles.

But Beyonce had a successful beginning, Ameriie did not. I'm basing my observation on both artistry. I'm very aware of Ike & Tina's following in 60s-70s, which brings me to my questions, how do you know how much of a following Ameriie has. Ameriie's fourth album, debuted at 12k and still went on to sell 100,000 in 9 month span, so she still has a following in US and UK. I also think her success in South Korea is still growing. I just see a lot similarities that aren't there with Beyonce. Sure Beyonce is a great performer but so is Ameriie. Beyonce career success is similar to Donna Summer not Tina's. I think you guys are only basing it on performance wise. I'm taking everything into play, because Tina switched her style on each album and so has Ameriie.

Post all the videos you want. It still doesn't prove ANYTHING. Sorry I know the truth. Its like u guys think u were in the studio with Rich and Ameriie. Did u know Rich Harrison is related to Ameriie? Seriously, why would he pass up his own flesh and blood for Beyonce. The logics from u guys is laughable

Complete and utter bullsh*t.

In May 2004, Harrison heard "Oh, Calcutta!" for the first time and began working on the beat accompanying the ten-second back-and-forth breakdown between Meters drummer Ziggy Modeliste and guitarist Leo Nocentelli. Harrison said he loved the work of the Meters, especially Modeliste, commenting, "Ziggy, he's crazy."[1] He processed the way the breakdown could be "flipped", added a bongo drum, a cowbell, and a ride cymbal, and sent it to Amerie. - Blender
Crazy in Love was recorded in 2002.
But anyway... 2002
Beyonce was doing funk before Amerie and that's all. That wasn't even the point I was making. My point was Amerie's sound had more to do with the success of CIL and Harrison's sound. She doesn't give me Tina Turner vibes. She isn't "raw" enough for that.

Actually, Bey was working on DIL from 2001-2002. The album was finalized in 2003, rest is history.

Okay, well then based on numbers and things like, how many albums someone has released and who sampled a song for which single and stuff like that, then she is the new Tina Turner. But those are just coincidences to me. That's comparing what happens to an artist and not what they actually do.

I'm really not trying to prove anything. No one knows how long Ameriie was planning on doing funk, but the fact is she did NOT release anything before Beyonce. The point I was trying to make by saying that The Neptunes produced Work it Out (not Rich Harrison) is that obviously either Beyonce or The Neptunes wanted to do funk before Beyonce even started on Crazy in Love. And Work it Out was released almost a month before Ameriie's debut album was. So yes, we were not in the studio with any of them, and neither were you. So all we can talk about is the facts. If you have some piece of information that you think would change our minds, please share.
I do. I have a bipolar relationship with her because I believe she can be a force worldwide. Especially with the crossover success of PSY and Kpop. She could really benefit from the growth of Kpop.
