If more Muslims, Christians and Hindus followed their religion more religiously, then they would also be peaceful. You could be how peaceful as you want following any religion you want. Just because there are a lot of Islamic extremists doesn't make the whole religion not peaceful.

There are hateful people in every religion, because there are hateful people in every culture. In Myanmar, there were buddhist communists who brutally killed their own people, but it wasn't because of their religion, but because of their political opposition. So no, not every buddhist is peaceful, but as a whole, buddhism is the most peaceful religion.
