Album sales decrease over time, both thanks to piracy and general loss of casual interest, so the girls who shift a lot of albums now won't continue to do so...which will make getting to 50 million a challenge, let alone 100 million.
Then of course there's the debatable future of albums altogether. I wouldn't be surprised if sales eventually dropped to the point where labels don't even bother trying to sell them, preferring to give them away via sponsored download and gain profit exclusively from singles, merchandise and touring.
Beyonce has sold around 13 million albums in the US.
Adele has sold almost 12 million
GaGa has sold around 8.4 million
Rihanna has sold around 8.3 million
Katy has sold around 4 million
Some other notable pop acts...
Pink has sold about 12 million
Taylor has sold around 18 million
Christina has sold about 17.5 million
Britney has sold over 35 million
This all US Soundscan. Some of these numbers are probably less due to not knowing where some of the catalog albums stand. If anyone has more updated numbers, feel free to add those in. I included all albums. Studio, live and compilation.
Those seem very accurate. And these are all the only accurate #s we will ever have because the international #s are so murky. Do Beyonce's #s include DC3? What are her solo #s?
anyway britney album sales not 100 millons.. this figures over-inflated.. her official all album sales max. 75M.. included my prerogative greatest hits and FF.. and nearly 150 Millons record sold..
soo answer is none..
Nope. Including the greatest hits an remix albums she sold around 85-90.
