For those of you confused he's talking about producing the song not about writing the song. Calvin's an EDM producer, those tracks, the good ones at least, take more than a couple of days to create. Porter Robinson said it took months for him to finish "Language" Zedd has said similar things. It's kind of a slap in the face to him and his craft to only give him 2 days. I commend him for deciding he couldnt do it instead of rushing something just to make the album and get paid. For the new people to how rihanna records, claiming rihanna can record so fast why couldnt he, two-thirds or more of rihannas songs are already written and demo'd for her so she can easily get in the studio and write a bridge then record probably three or four songs a night. Calvin actually has to create from scratch THEN get a writer who's available last minute THEN mix the song with all the effects and stuff. Lets not insult the craft of the man who gave us one of our favorite rihanna hits.
Here's the proof that actual EDM is superior in all way when compared to pop garbage tracks that Dr Luke and RedOne take a day to produce. This is why I like an respect EDM so much more.
It's so odd that Rihanna went the EDM route with We Found Love and now she's taking a step back. EDM is the future of music so WFL was somewhat ahead of its time on radio in the US. Nothing RedOne or Benny Blanco produces has these qualities.

You poor, uneducated soul. The song was completely written and created and just needed vocals with the final mixing on it. Sometimes, a lack of words is more powerful than a slew of spoken garbage in rhyming format.
