Is GaGa unfairly criticized for the $0.99 BtW deal when it was not her or Interscope's decision at all, but Amazon itself, simply to promote their new brand using the hottest, most easy to sell album at the time of release?
GaGa got taken advantage of but no one bothers to call Amazon out for it. They go straight to her.
No, because we have no proof that it was ONLY Amazon's doing. Most people aren't stupid enough (well excluding suicidal monsters) to believe that Interscope had nothing to do with that. Who's to say it wasn't arranged?
The fact is that it happened, and Gaga and her little monsters love to brag about 1 million+, so they should get used to the massive asterisk that comes along with it. Billboard, HDD, Rolling Stone, and pretty much every reputable publication is just speaking the truth. It's not something that'll be forgotten so deal with it.
Oh and the overall sales are super embarrassing in relation to the first week so Billboard etc is probably ashamed of including them. Oop.
It's not unfair. They aren't criticizing her character or anything, they are just stating facts. We'll never know if the album would have sold 1 million without the deal, I mean, all those people who bought it through Amazon may have been intending to buy it on iTunes, but $0.99 < $9.99 or $14.99, so it would only make sense for people to go with the cheaper alternative.
