Gay men aren't typically ashamed of liking female pop singers, whereas straight men are scolded. I would think that if society was more accepting, we'd see a lot more straight men admitting they listen to Rihanna, Ke$ha, Gaga, etc...
I know some straight men who love musicals like Rent, and I can't stand them for the most part. It's honestly just based on what you like.
