Every single art form reflects the views of an artist on culture and often responds (or criticize) politics. Artists basically shove their own opinions in the face of public all the time, thats what they do!!! I dont know what kind of music you listen to or what kind of literature have you read, but its really disturbing that you failed to notice something so essential and important about art. Artists (especially writers and poets, but also painters, musicians...) were an important voice of every political change and revolution that happened in the past.
