Cat 1 is not the biggest storm. A Cat 3, 4 or 5 is where you start to worry.
This isn't a typical Cat. 1, and the storm is getting stronger the closer it gets. It wasn't supposed to be this strong at this point in earlier models.
Not to mention Sandy is attacking areas that aren't used to getting hurricanes like this. A tropical depression to us is devastating enough.
