I'm downright worried for the first few weeks of sales now.

This is a hot topic every year and every year Rihanna ends up selling well worldwide while she's on tour for last year's era or not promoting too much or just sitting on a yacht etc.
For those worrying about sales, Rihanna will be fine. We know she doesn't do huge numbers in the first week and we know not to expect her to get a #1 in the US (although her biggest competition this year is Nicki's re-release so she
should get it). By the time the era is finished Rihanna will have some more hits under her belt, another #1 single or two, and we will be able to deem the era successful.
Besides, this era is going to be an "on" era. Rihanna alternates between "on" and "off" eras, Good Girl Gone Bad and Loud were both fantastic eras, while Rated R and Talk That Talk were not too great in comparison (sales wise). So this year shall be a really successful one.
And for those who are just focused on the music (as we all should be), not too long to wait now!
