What you need to understand is that it is enough to be certified 2x platinum. Should've been awhile ago, but like i said they waiting until probably next year. Certifications is based on shipments right? Okay so they only have to ship 136,000 more albums.

It isn't based on sales. That's why Roman Reloaded and Justin's album were both certified Platinum way before it actually hit 1,000,000 in sales.

I understand that you don't get how the certification process works but, according to RIAA, certs are based on shipments. 1M shipments equals platinum. There are plenty albums that have shipped 1M but their labels have not certified them platinum and vice versa. Labels ship out what they expect will sell eventually and reship when those units are sold which is why artist get re-certified.

Just so you know many albums have not come close to surpassing said numbers before being certified.
None of Mariah carey's albums crossed 10M even with music club sales (7.0+1.0M+ music sales) but have gone diamond.
Whitney houston's album the body guard sold 12M and hasn't sold 5M with music sales (no artist has) yet it is ceritifed 17x platinum.
Whitney houston My love is your love is 4x platinum and has barely crossed 3M in sales.
Britney spears 1st album is 14x platinum but sold 10.5+1.6M music club sales to total 12M
Madona's Ray of light hasn't sold 4M albums in the US but is certified 4x platinum
Madonna' underperforming album American life hasn't crossed 700k in sales but is platinum
Lil kim's hard core sold 1.4M albums but is certified 2x platinum
Shania twain's come on over is 20x platinum only selling 15.5M album.
2 of toni braxtons most successful albums sold over 5M copies but are certified 8x platinum
TLC's biggest album
Destiny's child writing on the wall album sold 6.3M albums and is certified 8x platinum
Michael Jackson's thriller album has gone 29x platinum but not sold 29Million copies in the U.S.

I think they are waiting until after the holiday rush to certified her first album 2x platinum. They will probably discount her first album and her second album during the black friday sales week. THey still need to certify drakes new album 2x platinum.

that's like saying, oh well, Brandy's Two Eleven was #3 on billboard but it was close to #1 so it deserves to go #1..... it's unrealistic. i know Rules are rules and RIAA ain't about to change it, but still ._.

An album peaking at #3 doesn't deserve #1
An album shipping a million copies makes it eligible for platinum. It doesn't have to cross 1M just ship. Whereas a #3 would have to sell more than the #1 album to deserve the #1 spot.

You making a big fuss out of nothing. This is why BILLBOARD goes by soundscan and not by the RIAA. The RIAA is only for pre-soundscan artist.

Kii...the billboard charts go by soundscan for weekly sales when they list the certifications of albums it is by RIAA.
