tbh if it weren't for Britney. I wouldn't be watching this show either.
I watched it last season and loved it. Although more scripted this season, the format is still miles better than The Voice and American Idol. More interesting and diverse contestants too.
Relating to "HIAM" talk a few pages back, the song's strong point is how it builds. That was epic production wise, each part of the song is a new experience. The soft intro, the soft verse/chorus, then the 2nd verse/chorus are amped up a bit. Then of course the asshole gaping breakdown, swaglicious bridge (GIMME SOMETHIN GOOD, DON'T WANNA WAIT I WANT IT NOW -- PAWP IT LIKE A HOOD, AND SHOW ME HOW YOU WORK IT OUT). OMG she sounded so gangsta and into it. Then of course the final chorus is explosive dance rave party.
I wish I had recorded myself listening to the song when it first premiered. I was literally swinging off my ceiling fan.
There's nothing bad to say about the song, but I do think maybe if the vocal delivery were more intriguing like in the bridge, it would've caught on better. Besides the hazay part, she kind of keeps the same, flat tone through the song. But I love it, coming for my first 1,000+ song on iChunes.
What people really don't understand is that popstars don't have a long shelf life, especially if they were young when they debuted. Look at all the stars that came out in the 80s. How many are still successful? How many can you even name? Same applies for the 90s. Hell, artists of the 2000s are struggling. They either retire/trade fields, flop into oblivion, or a very few of them continue their success.
Not many can last, let alone remain successful. And the fact that she gets compared to people who have been here less than half as long than she has, well that says something.
Sadly simple things like these are so easily overlooked here. I petition a ban to every troll that doesn't acknowledge this is any future Britney thread. Talk to the mods.
I haven't read any official source, but they always end up with 12 contestants each. So we're all guessing they are going to let one of each category go on Sunday. Maybe the judges are choosing live?
That's the format of the show. Then it will be down to 12 finalists and America will start to vote.
