What career do you respect the most and would want to be?
Entertainers, singers etc(it comes with fame and fortune) VS intellectuals(doctors, lawyers, philosophers, scientists etc)
If you would be handed a career with no effort, which one would you choose? And please explain your choice.
I would choose to be an intellectual because I am an avid reader and I like to think a lot. I love to challenge myself intellectually. I DONT want to be famous or have money. Not intrested.
And I have more respect for intellectuals. There are of course some few exceptions(those who are excellent in their art weather it is music, painting or anything else)

Ooh, good question!
Entertainer. It all seems so appealing to me.
But I suppose I'm more suited for an intellectual because I can't really sing or dance well, so in a non-delusional world, I know that I will NEVER be an entertainer. Plus, I'm pretty smart and have good grades so that further justifies me being an intellectual.
As far as respect goes, I respect both equally for an array of reasons that I don't feel like explaining.

Intellectuals make a difference. I'd feel too frivolous being an entertainer.

Entertainer. I wanna be famous and rich and have paparazzi following me.... then again that would probably get annoying in the long term, where as an intellectual would live a pretty happy, care free life with a lot of money too. But even though I have no special qualities an entertainer needs, I would LOVE to be one, haha.

It is possible to train up your singing skills or whatever skills you need to train. Intellect is a complex skill just like singing and dancing. I would even say that being intelligent(and no, I dont mean smart like getting good grades) is harder.

More respect for the intellects as they actually help make a real difference. However, I'd rather be an entertainer and I have respect for them too because they're just doing their thing aswell and we all love being entertained.

I would love to be a pop/rock singer. I always fantasize about being an artist signed to Capitol Records (the best label) and being able to play the piano and guitar with one of the best voices in the world and having the best songwriting ability.

Entertainers can make a humane difference when they take their craft
seriously and put their popularity to good use though, right?

Intellects because even the entertainers depend on them everyday as we all do.
I believe they both can be stressful depending on circumstances, though.
I would want to be an entertainer in a perfect world lol

I want to be an entertainer.
I hate it when people take "intellectual" careers more seriously than entertainment careers.

Intellectuals. I don't like attention or performing and I don't have any singing or dancing talent. I'm more of an introvert which fits more with intellectuals. Also intellectuals have the ability to actually make a difference in the world, entertainers not so much. I mean, an intellectual could, say, create a cure for cancer. A singer wouldn't be able to cure cancer by singing really well...if that makes sense. Intellectuals depend more on themselves to get ahead, whereas entertainers depend on other people to buy their music and things like that. You can be the best entertainer in the world, but if nobody likes you or wants to buy your music, you're stuck.

This is so true! I hate to be depended on people. I am an introvert as well so it fits me well to strive for an intellectual career(which I already do).

No I mean the CAREER. People expect you to be a lawyer or a doctor and look at you like you have 3 heads if you want to entertain.

I think some entertainers career could be taken very seriously and respected, like Michael Jackson(genious), Beyonce and other great entertainers. I have huge respect for entertainers who worked their a*s of to be where they where/are.
Michael Jackson worked 12 hours a day(no psuedo-work, but REAL HARD WORK) between 5 to 7 days to perfect his skills and craft. THAT TAKES A LOT OF DEDICATION and I truly respect that. Beyonce worked her a*s of as well, maybe not as hard as MJ but I respect her. That is not something EVERYONE can do, and everyone cant be intellectuals either. Only those who pay the price can.

Intellectuals.
This is what you really call a career.
What about the skilled workers? Waiters, Chefs, etc.. I mean they are still part of this. Without them, those great ideas of the Intellectuals wouldn't be put to work.
