You probably misunderstood me. I'm a former Cassie stan. I used to check your site and Denise's site everyday (I still kind of do, much to my dismay) and I ran a Cassie tumblr. I'm still a member of CassieArmy on twitter, and a prominent member of CassieBoards when that forum actually got hits.
She doesn't deserve any success and any fans simply because she is not putting the work out there. She said it herself, she is too laidback. Yes, Cassie -- we can obviously see that. You're not busting your ass, fighting to get promo, fighting to be heard, putting yourself out there. You could argue -- "Oh, it's her record label's fault, it's Diddy's fault, etc"... NOPE. As the artist, it is her fault. She is prioritizing her relationship with Diddy over her career by not calling him out on his whack ********. He's ****ing DIDDY -- if he wanted her to be everywhere, she would be EVERYWHERE. And even if her hands were tied with getting more promo, she does a horrible job of self-promoting herself! She barely tweets, she barely interacts with her fans. She says that we brought her back to life after the disappointment that was her fast album, but she fails to show her appreciation to her fans by actually being an artist. Fans don't care about ****ing ice cream, fans care about MUSIC. She consistently promises materials and fails to deliver -- and on the off chance she does deliver -- it is late, late, late. I laughed when she promised a mixtape in July that would have a Summer release date. It's almost November Cass -- where is it? Where's the Balcony music video we were supposed to get at the end of September? I guarantee you that album will not have a Winter release as promised. And I bet we'll pass the 7 year mark of her debut album without another release.
It's hard, being a Cassie stan. I was there from the beginning, and the years of constant disappoint have pissed off and made me bitter. She is going to keep losing fans, sorry to say. I am sincerely sorry about that. I wish her all the success in the world -- I think she has one of the greatest voices in pop today, a great ear for beats, a humble and beautiful personality, an impeccable and inherent sense of style (unlike tryhard-Rihanna), and of course, she is gorgeous. SHE HAS WHAT IT TAKES -- she's just not going to be successful because she's too laidback and has absolutely no drive to get her music out there. If she really, truly wanted that mixtape out, it'd be out.
It's terribly difficult finding a fellow Cassie stan (not a fan that tumbles pretty photos of her and likes her sense of style and Me & U, but an invested stan that has dedicated effort and time to their obsession with her) that is willing to take off the rose-coloured glasses and see things as is. I would get **** like, "You're not a real fan!" I'm sorry, but I think your idolization is going too far when you fail to see the facts in front of you. There's a difference between blind optimism and hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. I'm the latter.
If you ever want to talk Cassie, I'm your girl.

i LOVE this song and the video is so good. I hate that this flopped HARDLY. I mean, #114 on Hot 100. Eh, Cassie was only popular with Me & U, but I thought more from Nicki.

I think we (or at least me & some other stans here) have realized she's never going to be a huge star, she doesn't have the personality for that as discussed before and like you mentioned. And yes, p.e. we are frustrated that she probably won't take advantage of some of the hype she's been building this year because I don't think we will be getting a new release anytime soon. She just doesn't seem to want to be out there every day, with new images online, new music and visuals every month just to get people talking, organizing a bigger fanbase, until she eventually gets that song that clicks for a larger amount of people (sort of like Diddy did with the Dirty Money promotion), that just doesn't seem to be going to happen. And the sad part is that she actually also has everything to make it work: the image and the resources. But Cassie (and her team) seem to be waiting for another hit to fall out of the sky a la "Me & U". They just gave up on "King of Hearts", her first performance was so late and at 106 & Park of all places. And instead of constantly performing she just goes back into the studio, even cancels one of the best promo opportunities she's had at that MTV festival. And yes, that is frustrating, specially when she keeps hinting at exciting possibilities in her career (like the ones she promised on the July letter) but that doesn't look like it's not going to happen so I just decided to stop whining all the time about it. After all these years there's obviously periods where I'm more upset than others as well but at least we're still able to listen to all the tracks we have available of hers (most of it thanks to the leaks - who would've thought that in the end they would be the ones helping her career remain alive). And at the end of the day, that's what we are here for so as long as we keep getting new music eventually as I'm sure we will we just should enjoy it to the max. On that recent GQ interview she said she doesn't mind being an "underground artist" or whatever, what I think she meant is basically be an artist with no hits that still releases stuff from time to time, which is better than just see her give up on something that both Cassie and her remaining fans truly seem to enjoy or we wouldn't be here. She has a lot of potential but she needs to change the minds of basically everyone else and for that it takes a lot of work but there's always times like the "King of Hearts" premiere event and now "The Boys" feature (even if it's flopping) that only proves where she could be if a lot of things had been different in her life.

@Monsta gtfo
Instead of enjoying the rare moments Cassie is finally releasing music, you guys are complaining?
The music industry like it is right now doesnt please Cassie at all :she likes R&B,she hates controversies, she hates being stressed out by labels-lawyers-managers,she hates exposing her life.
She is sweet girl, beautiful and happy,Do you want the game to change her for the worst because you want hits ?

I wish I could "like" this post like you can on an IP Board. sigh. (I even considered setting up an IP Board for Cassie, until I realized that she doesn't have that sort of fanbase anymore. )
I agree with everything you said. Yeah, they're definitely waiting for a hit, but with her current promo, it's not going to happen. I still think Cassie can be successful, even if the has poor promo -- the answer lies in changing their expectations and remarketing Cassie as an "Indie"/"Underground" artist. A kind of bad analogy: stop holding out for Beyonce hits and go the Solange route. No one expects an indie/underground artist to be pulling in high sales.
It's literally perfect for Cassie. Cassie may not have the conventional success that many of her contemporaries do, but she has the critical acclaim and and underground/indie following that other prominent female artists in the industry lack. DJs/producers love her. Blogs and critics love her. Hell, Pitchfork f*cking loves her. Spin compared KOH to f*cking Radiohead, and The Guardian loves writing articles about Cassie cult status. She needs to work with what she does have. She needs to stop chasing mainstream success and get that underground success -- she already has the indie cred to back her up. Market her like Solange or like an indie artist -- not like a pop star. This sort of formula not only relieves the pressure to have album/single sales, but matches Cass' personality and her dislike of performing, as artists in this particular niche are not expected to perform as much. It's perfect. I just don't know why her team doesn't change tactics and follow this route.

Cassie never explicitly stated that she only likes R&B; she likes an eclectic array of music. And my idea above of being an underground artist would respect her private life.

Lol, I actually thought about it too before, setting up a nice and clean looking message board for the few of us but then there would be periods when it would be super inactive and one of the reasons I didn't was because similarly to the site some fans would probably boycott it as "there's already one Cassie fan board so what's the need for another". I still think about it, at least it would be another appreciation web-place for her and god knows she needs those these days.
Anyway, I agree with what you said too. I said it before, I also still believe she has at least another "hit" in her even if it's following the same "promo" techniques her team has used so far, but it's upsetting having to wait all this time.
And I guess the answer to that last part of your post and why they're not following that route is really the way they work and Cassie, it's all up to her (and whoever is her team and manages her - Diddy I guess, which is also another reason why it may never work again unless they split which wouldn't supposedly be a good thing now though). I don't even know if we should hope that we can still get some more leaks soon but I have the feeling that only delays more any possible official release that's on their minds, even if that makes no sense. After that amazing letter and the "GREAT new management" talk I thought something would change but then that messy "release"(?) of 'Balcony' happened and the mixtape is not even out yet as well.

I understand your point @ Lana (lmao) but The Boys was supposed to be the second single from the mixtape/album then Nicki's decision to take it for her changed her plans.Sometimes things are not so complicated.
She has to find a new second single and shoot a new video probably. You already know sh*t takes time with her.Stop complaining and enjoy the 10 millions views

Then wtf was the "Balcony" release for? No comprendo.
And what happened to "Bougie Sh*t" and all those other tracks she talked about? Plus I'm sure she has recorded way more since she's working with new producers and songwriters every damn week

I don't understand fans that would boycott a different fansite dedicated to Cassie. One fan shouldn't be allowed to have a monopoly on fansites dedicated to an artist. It contributes positively to the Cassie community, keeps her name out there, and gives us more sources. Is it not better for the artist if they have multiple sites supporting them? Apparently not, a fan can only throw their support behind one site. Also, I've definitely noticed times that you've had news that Denise failed to report, and with her fansite now gone, you're still giving us the latest news and photos. Where would we be now? You're indispensable to Cassie Army!
I would love a clean-looking message board! If money were a factor, I'd be more than happy to halve the cost with you, but I'm so poor right now. If Denise is letting Cassieverse go, she's definitely not going to renew the domain for Cassie-Boards... so I think you're justified in making one if you still want to. (Not that you need that as an excuse, artists have multiple forums dedicated to them).

I think so too. In fact -- I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion -- but I always thought Thirsty was more Me & U Part 2 than KOH, and had summer smash all over it. I still think it sounds fresh.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn't be good if they split. :\ After the release of the mixtape and the end of her album cycle... I wouldn't care that much. If she left Bad Boy, I am confident that she would secure another deal. She has a built-in fanbase, killer style, and a reputation in the music industry for constantly delivering critically-acclaimed work. I'm sure there are many record labels that recognize this.

Balcony is her new single. The video was supposed to be released in September.
I don't like this idea of accepting that ~sh*t takes time with her, stop complaining~ (although it is true). If you accept getting no material, that's what you're going to get -- no material. I really think that if @CassieArmy rounded up the troops and demanded that they tweet for the mixtape, we'd have gotten it a lot sooner, or at the very least, we'd have gotten an official release date, which we could hold her to. Her and her team keeps jerking us -- the fans -- around and it's horribly unfair of them. They are taking are undying support for granted, and that's why I seemed so angry in my earlier post.
