Long time shopping = shopping around i.e. price comparison.
In my experience both men and women can do the above, from personal to business purchasing, everyone likes a bargain or to buy for the lowest price possible. In personal shopping, I've found that the generalisation for women shopping more is compensated with the generalisation where men on average take longer in the dressing room. Both tend to like to get multiple opinions if possible and some (of both) will re-try items.
Travis - some shops in London do have games areas for those who don't like to browse.
Filipe <3 iris - That depends on the persons involved, usually it's about a certain level of insecurity where they need reassurance as stated before, on things like looks or opinions of other people they may be with or even just company hence the waiting areas with mirrors where many think oh they might as well go along just to check what they look like too or if it's on the way to somewhere else. Not all women do this though.
ferpunk - you could always complain to your school board/governing body. A mistranslation that affects exam clarity is important and by the sounds of it your school may be one of those that has higher expectations in order to help produce better overall results at the end. Micro-economics however is a subject itself and would need more detail

.
Mazen - yep unfortunately things tend to turn out that way. girls start off with the same enthusiasm (I take into account personal preference but we're talking overall trends) for 'male past times' but are then socialised out of it and the longer they are out of it, the harder it is to get back into it or catch up. The same goes for boys who are socialised to see certain things as female dominated. As for the last comment though - I wouldn't agree as to the hating shopping bit, there's plenty of diferent things to shop for and the list you mentioned could be described as 'superficial stuff' but look at the ratio of boys to girls on this forum for example which has music/movie news yes but also tons of superficial topics/images/polls/remarks
