hmmm...well to be honest, I don't think radio refused to play Madonna. I think the singles from American Life were not catchy and they were too self-indulgent. I don't think anybody cared that her video made criticicm of Bush, I think it was just a poorly done song, video, and I remember a LOT of people in my high school laughing at Madonna over that corny, misguided rap. She really lost touch with the American public over that cd. As far as Confessions goes--it was good cd, but all of the songs on it really, REALLY had to grow on me...that album was pure disco and that's not really popular here in the U.S. I don't think it has anything to do with radio refusing to play Madonna, it has more to do with what people want to listen to...I'm sure she'll be back on her game again with the next album.
