Romy and Michele High School Reunion sequel campaign
When last we saw Romy (Mira Sorvino) and Michele (Lisa Kudrow), they had turned their failed lie about inventing Post-It notes into very successful careers as fashion boutique owners. They were supposed to be only 28 at the time, and a lot can happen between ages 28 and 43 — which is how old they’d be now. Even if you aren’t a superfan of the 1997 cult classic Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, you have to admit, objectively speaking, that there is plenty of room for a story about the ladies’ 25th high school reunion.
Not that we’re being objective here. We first got excited about the possibility of a reunion last month, when Sorvino visited VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live and said she was fully onboard with doing a sequel.
“It’s all about the studio saying, ‘Yes, we’d like to do a sequel,’ ” she told host Carrie Keagan, before teaching her how to do one of the dynamic duo’s famous dance moves. “And we have a lot of fan support. It’s really a cult classic. If people write to Disney and say, ‘We want a Romy and Michele Reunion 2,’ then it’ll happen. That’s the only way it’s going to happen.”
I love this movie, but I don't feel the need for a sequel. It was a perfectly self contained story that was very of its time.
It's about a high school reunion which they've now gone to. The class would be the same so a 20 year reunion would be redundant. They'd have to put them in a totally different situation.
I could see them being mothers and dealing with the dynamics of fellow high school parents, maybe throw in some child pageantry for good measure, but they'd have to nail it.

All of this. Word for word.
In related news, I think I'm gonna bail on my plans for the evening so I can stay in and watch the original film again. If my friends have any problems with my absence, I'll simply explain to them that I cut my foot earlier and my shoe started filling up with blood.
One of the best comedy movies ever, and quite frankly, everything Lisa Kudrow does is perfection, so I'm here for it. She wouldn't do it unless it'd be just as good as the first.
