She has a couple important moments (BOMT, Toxic, Blackout). A lot of her "impact" is grossly exaggerated.

Yes, she led the rise of teen pop in the late 90s when boy/girl bands were heavily dominating the music industry. After her debut, record execs couldn't move fast enough to try and find the next "Britney."

She helped shape & mold teen bubblegum pop with her first two albums but that's about it. She hasn't greatly influenced music. And that bubblegum pop movement quickly faded. It's out dated these days (obviously.)

She hasn't transitioned into becoming a pop icon as an adult because she's still making simple, generic pop music at 30. Her music hasn't matured since "In The Zone" -- Therefore the music she's making now isn't that much different than her first two albums, she's still stuck in that bubblegum genre.

Being apart of the revolution of the early 00s pretty, "virginal" blonde girls then later the genre of music that would come to dominate deserves such notice, my child.

She did, a major part. Think about it. How many pop artists that weren't power vocalists had a career? There wasn't a pop female like that since Madonna. She came at a time, when all of the major pop artists at the time were in groups, the fact that she came out as a solo teenage female artist spoke volumes. It was because of her, and her success that we started to see a whole bunch of solo female artists.

Labels didn't think there was going to be a female solo artist like Madonna, and after her label took a chance on her look at the results. Look at all the female pop artists now versus in 1997. So Britney did have that impact.

Yes, her music paved the way for artists like Katy Perry in being successful.

We were asked if she changed pop music. She did, at least twice as we humans with ears + notable critics have noted. Being extra is unnecessary, my child.

Britney REVOLUTIONIZED Pop music, most of your faves have listed her as a MAJOR inspiration. Whether you like it or not Britney was a legend from day one even with that Catholic schoolgirl outfit.
