I'm not supporting his self-hatred, but this isn't really an appropriate response. What exactly do you mean that "black people have been owning more than ever in 2012"? Racism still exists, no matter how many black people are powerful politicians or celebrities if that's what you mean. Just because he would rather be a different race isn't necessarily "ignorant" either--it's just an honest opinion--black people are subjected to many things that other races (whites and other minorities) are not. I don't think I need to list them for you.

At my last job I was a server at a restaurant and this older white guy told me he didnt want his food being around any blacks because they carry diseases and told me to go find him a white server. - I quit that same night, because my manager who also was white didnt see the harm in it. she told me to just ignore it and go find him another server.

I can't speak for the person who you were responding to, but the existence of many black celebrities and politicians and entertainers does not erase racism, and I'm sure it has very little to do with how this person feels on an individual level about his own race.

You're missing the point. Fact is black people have nothing to ashamed of in 2012. We're SLAYING rn. And White Men don't own any of that ****. People invest into their companies because of those black people that are keeping their businesses afloat. We are more wanted than ever now.
