I didn't vote for The Red Alberm but lemme just go AWF for how she perfectly channeled the best elements of Janet Jackson's golden period and made the 3rd best non hip-hop album of the 00s with this album. The electronica influences set it apart from other R&B albums being released around the time (though it did spawn a legion of imitators). Rock The Bible, More Than A Goddess, God Can Be, What Ifsus, Those Were The Days, Jesus Refuses!!!>>>>> And let's not forget how she SLAYED I Care 4 U at the age of 16!!!! She gave the real tea about relationships from the good, the bad and the freaky from a woman's perspective. RIP Aaliyah!!
If Thriller has already placed, I better not see any HINT of Frank Ocean.
The Goddess In My Life >>>>> 99% of male R&B singers' entire discographies.

“channelORANGE” is one of the most important R&B albums released because of its varied composition, wonderful detailed and beautifully written lyrics. It an album constructed in a time when R&B lacked focused, passion and craftsmanship in many mainstream artists. “channelORANGE” as Pitchfork puts it, encompasses “a timeless philosophy…one of hard-won acceptance and the acknowledgment that love and sex and loss will always draw legends to them.” And this quality of work is evidenced in the mournfully raw ballad “Thinkin’ Bout You” to the 10-minute opus, “Pyramids,” and to the bold, analytically nature of the album’s finale, “Bad Religion,” “Pink Matter,” and “Forrest Gump.”
