My biggest fear is a rise in social conservatism in this country. Its happened before in history.

Oh, and if he does win (fingers crossed he doesn't), does it mean that USA will become like Saudi Arabia, but Christian version?
And the rest of the world will be scared shitless to invade them Iraq style so this disease will spread all over the west. yay.

If he wins people will just look even more dumb than they already do, then they will try their best to get him out of office and Obama will be somewhere laughing.

This is what happened in Afghanistan too, guys. For the arabian world, they used to be a moderate country, allowing alcohol, even having a democratic parliament, and then suddenly, fundamentalism arose. I won't compare Romney to the Taliban, that would be way over the top, but it's another example of a society turning backwards.

It's different this time around. If this was Obama running against Mitt for the first time Obama would already have it in the bag. We have a society that wants to blame someone for every bad thing that happens, and unfortunately, the president can get a lot of it.

Most people just don't LIKE Obama, even to the point that they're voting for that apeshit crazy Romney.


I'm MORE than sure if Romney tries pulling any huge social conservative chords there will be riots.

I think America is a lot less extremist now than it used to be, there's obviously a lot of ignorance out there in both parties, but at least in our generation, I don't think being a conservative means what it means to the baby boomers. I don't have any data, only my personal interactions with others my age and older than me.

Anyway, I really don't see any way the math adds up to where Romney can get 270 electoral college votes. It will take a miracle at this point, to be honest.


Obama's "likability" rating is consistently higher than that of Romney, though. Even though his job approval rating has been abysmal, I think a lot of level-headed Americans realize that the Republican motive these past four years was to not get American's back to work, but to get one American out of work.

My only fear is that these big corporations, which are recording record profits, aren't hiring as many people solely because they don't want anything good to come out of Obama's presidency. I could see employment going up with Romney as president solely because Money loves company.
