ugh. Just ugh. Don't, just don't post unless you really know what you're talking about when it comes to **** like this, please?
Anyway.
Sam Raimi produced a **** ton of crappy HORROR MOVIES, only some were "remakes" and they were mostly Japanese horror films remade for American audiences.
That being said, Sam Raimi has a lot of emotional investment in this movie. It's his first, it's what he's most famous for barring Spider-Man 1-3. He's PROVEN that he can do horror flawlessly when given the proper means (Drag Me to Hell), and Fede Alvarez is an extremely talented director.
On top of such, what makes Evil Dead such a damn good movie is a sense of passion and fun. You can't fake that at all. When I watch Evil Dead, I see a group of friends making a movie and having fun with it. You don't need silly jokes to make an Evil Dead movie. You need passion and interest.
This cast looks into it. The crew is clearly into it. It's going to be scary, it's going to be dark, it's not going to be a repeat of what we got 30 years ago.
Evil Dead is an awesome story. It's time it really tried to scare someone.
