Popfusion Top 30 Scrapped --- Newly moved to Your Top 10
EDIT: . :: Popfusion Exposure Chart::. Top 30
Please continue to provide comments here. If you would rather see this countdown in the Lounge please make your voice heard.
Do you think the chart is stupid and pointless because it surrounds BUZZ and not TASTE?
Those talked about = Promo = higher singles on the chart.
http://www.popfusion.net/forums/show...t=44949&page=2
FULL SECOND CHART ON THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 1
SORRY ABOUT TYPO IN POLL: "NO"
And just for the record: I'm not trying to get out of this at all --- I have shown my dedication by posting the 2nd chart --- it is just that no response is being generated --- no wait, its mainly negative when I get some --- so I guess people don't really care. So just so you know, I tried. Thanks

I don't think it should be scrapped, thought it was a great idea. I hate when people don't even bother to comment on a chart like this, while the creator put so much work into it.

Thanks, but its not only relating to the commenting only, its just that people think its a bit pointless, not relating to people's taste, but to buzz the artist is creating --- Its something different.
Please feel free to comment here guys, at the end of the day I'm here to please...
In essence --- the chart basically represents to Top 30 most talked about artists of the week --- taking into consideration half of the points accumulated the week before --- and taking that artists latest single as the "song" --- so it doesn't just represent something random, but you guys must say.

I think it shouldnt.
It is a great idea actually, but its not stupid to make it by the buzz around the forum, but its not that accurate I mean.
But I still love to have this chart.

Yes I guess its not accurate to what people may necessarily LIKE, but its what is generating the most discussion --- so which artist is the most talked about. Its sorta like Radio Airplay: the more they play it, the better it does --- here it is just the more it is discussed, the better it does.
We all know we never really agree with any chart, but there should be people on the chart for everyone, as they all take part in the discussions. Its hard to keep a forum of thousands of members happy.
Thanks for your input.

I think, in THIS format, it should be scrapped, but I do think actual voting would make this far better.
And contrary to what you think, I think people would choose what they'd like the most instead of the first ten songs. Obviously, it was a different time when it was last done, but the idea's still the same. It can't be THAT hard to comprehend.

...WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO COMMENT ON? That I think most of the songs are pure garbage? Obviously, he put a lot of work into it, and I commend him for that, anyone in their right mind would. I just don't like the format, that's all.

As is, I also agree with Ryan. Voting gets more people into it. I also think most of the songs are complete garbage and I wouldn't vote on it even if it was changed, but you would get more people. People would also more appreciate what you do if you changed it. Just my opinion though.

I appreciate all the comments, but I just find it ironic because these are the artists you guys are talking about. I mean the list is basically the Top 30 most talked about artists of the week. So its just ironic that people would be so against it.
But with all of this some for and some against I think I'm just going to leave it. I tried, and failed, but its fine.
I'm not prepared to do the voting thing because its just to me something that people won't take seriously - they simply vote to get it over and done with - I know what its like.
This to me was a representation of those talked about and it was a new venture. I wanna thank you all for giving comments and criticism - I appreciate it.
You must just always remember that things are never perfect and that not everything will be centered around your taste only.
Thanks anyway, I'll see you guys around.

Well, judging by the chart, it may be possible that I talk about Fergie and Rihanna, but it SURE AS HELL ain't positive talk.

When Kworb did his ATRL Top 40, it was something that people took VERY seriously. There were sometimes fights over what was #1 or what was on and wasn't on. Trust me, I was there.

Hey, it's no problem(and i'm still commenting and criticizing, so... ) and it's awesome to see someone do something different than the norm, that's ALWAYS appreciate--
Wait, what's this?

Okay, let me explain.
Yes, the songs are garbage and they would probably would, for the most part, be garbage if they were done via the old Top 40 format, BUT I would prefer it if the people themselves chose what their favorite songs were(even if I don't like them) and not one guy choosing the top 30 songs of artists that are just being talked about.
But hey, if you want to keep doing the chart, more power to you. Some people obviously like the idea. Entertain those who do.
EDIT: I notice that you now changed the thread title, so the former last part of this post is meaningless. Carry on.

Thanks for you post! It cleared a lot of things up for me.
I do agree with what you are saying.
In essence negative talk helps the artist, so its not at all something with personal taste. Doing a Top 40 could be really cool --- but I would first have to look into it before I try anything.
Thanks for your help.
