Seriously. It's incredible how much longevity that song is seeing. People jumped on my case when I said Stronger is still a factor for CMB to get over and that "that excuse was used for DS".. but the fact is, so many stations are still spinning Stronger and even MKIA and some DS. They'll eventually spin CMB, but Stronger is still receiving like 15 million AI more than Dark Side had at it's peak
It's obviously not the only reason CMB is going to start slow, just one factor.
Radio has been holding on to the recurrents this year like crazy rather than giving new songs a chance.
|
If Rihanna and Katy can both have multiple smashes on the radio, so can Kelly. CMB is a perfect fall song. PLU is the perfect winter club song...although...I'm getting more and more worried that it will be turned into a pop/rock song. She hasn't been able to do a good pop/rock song since BTHE.

Is this from kworb's site? He even states that anything beyond the top 70 or so is really inaccurate.

I know, but Kworb.net is the only source that we can see and trust
and It's also the only source which is close to real information
I think i should stop visiting Kwrob.net
Every time i visit that site, i'm disappointed at CMB

Eh, Rihanna and Katy are bigger pop staples than Kelly. Kelly is a staple on HAC. And Rih struggled after WFL with You Da One and then Talk That Talk. It wasn't until WHYB that she saw success again on Pop and that's a MUCH more obvious smash than CMB is. Katy has been the IT pop girl of the past two years.. much like Kelly was in 2005. But even Katy didn't really have multiple smashes at once.. she just smashed with each individual song and rode them through til they were falling. She's not really a huge recurrent artist with the exception of Firework. So once her singles go, they go. Kelly is still at 43 million AI after 10 month months
It's all kind of irrelevent though as I do believe CMB is a perfect fall song and will eventually become a hit.

Didn't MKIA still have a decent AI once Stronger began?
Radio will support the song once she performs it on X-Factor and the AMAs.

At us actually convincing ourselves that she's performing on the AMAs again.

She BETTER be performing at the AMA's.
I feel like it would be ridiculous for that not to be happening. Considering her GH comes out the following day AND she's nominated for a few awards..

AC is also slow and makes up so little of the overall airplay that it doesn't really matter.
Now Pop, on the other hand.

Don't even say that
She will probably perform Walk Away on the AMA's or DWTS anyway though because she'll want to promote the GH

AC matters a lot!
It gives songs tons, and tons, and tons, and tons of longevity

That longevity is because they play songs 5 months after they're hits...

Yeah, but didn't you hear, AC stations are planning to not support Catch My Breath and start playing Walk Away again after her AMA's, DWTS, and X Factor promo
