J. Cole Finishes New Album; Joint Album With Kendrick Lamar?
Quote:
J. Cole reveals that his sophomore album is complete, he’s just giving Kendrick Lamar a chance to shine before he announces the release date.
During 2011 J. Cole finally released his much anticipated ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story.’ Since that release though, he had remained rather quiet during the first half of 2012 when it came to new music, but over the last couple of months things have started to change.
J. Cole recently released his Major Lazer assisted track ‘Get Free Coleworld‘ to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of his studio debut album, and now we know that J. Cole is ready to drop his sophomore project.
In fact J. Cole says that the album is already complete, he just wants to give his friend Kendrick Lamar a chance to shine right now.
“As soon as he drops and f**s the world up, I’m about to come and f**k the world up,” J. Cole told the crowd at Footaction’s “Own The Stage” event in Hollywood.
Kendrick Lamar released his studio debut album ‘Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City‘ today, and the two are even set to release a joint album at some point in the future. We imagine J. Cole will announce the release date for his project sometime in the coming weeks, and it will drop in the first quarter of 2013.
