Quote:
Under cross, Weiss admitted that he's had talks with Britney's manager about signing her when her Jive contract is up after next album.

So it looks like Britney's camp is in talks with reuniting with Barry Weiss (former CEO of JIVE Records) at UMG. Contract neoigations with labels has been underway it seems.

Girl you're late on this tea. We still have a long way to go till she drops that doomed RCA 8th album and after that can finally go to a new label

It' always been just hearsay previously with rumors. Finally, we have legitimate confirmation from a label executive that talks are underway.

Honestly, once she's gone from JIVE, it will be her end. At the way Britney goes nowadays, no other label would be willing to put up so much work for little return, specially labels which have other, and currently successful, artists, (I don't know who's under Universal at the moment, though).

Is she under UMG or in talks with a label within that label?

She's under Jive/RCA, which is under Sony. So, she/her team is in talks with a label under UMG, either Universal Republic Records or Island Def Jam, as they are the ones Weiss is behind.

Actually she wouldn't be under Interscope as Weiss is behind Island Def Jam and Universal Republic Record, so she and Gaga wouldn't be promoted/paid from/with the same money...
I don't think either of those labels would do anything good to Britney, but RCA is just so ******... She was decent with JIVE before they decide to let her go to RCA...

Actually I think those labels will do better things to Britney than RCA to be honest, those labels have better reputation on giving more "freedom" to the artist music than RCA.
In terms of promotion don't worry, Britney doesn't promote properly since "In the zone" so it will be the same on JIVE or Any Label.
At least I know Def Jam and Universal care a bit more for their artists than RCA ... RCA just doesn't do any sh*t.

But it was under Barry Weiss' leadership that JIVE had Britney. He didn't leave until just before Femme Fatale.
It's obvious that Barry and Britney work well together.
