I stand by my previous statement of Taylor Swift being the world's biggest pop star at the moment. Britney, GaGa, even Adele are all getting paid dust compared to Queen Swift.
It's worth noting iTunes means **** all in most countries that aren't major music markets and is not necessarily representative of an artist's popularity in that territory since only very, very few people use it in a lot of countries and it's mostly rich pre teens.
