Radio stations play what the public is receptive too, especially after so many weeks (I mean, a single can be pushed at first, but if audiences dislike the shoving of it, audiences will shrink, which is not what happens with OMN because people like to hear it on waves apparently).
GS is a foreign spoken song that many in USA radios won't ever overplay, just because people can be easily set off by it (this is a curse for any foreign act that tries to break USA market, unless it doesn't aim at the wider latino audience which still has power in itself).
For how unfair this may sound and look, this is the truth of radio programming: aim for the middle audience type and you won't displease audiences and (from there) advertisers.
Radio is submitted to marketing approaches like any other business activity in the USA, and the fact they like to put OMN on rotation over GS is not playing dirt.... it's a choice aimed at keeping the majority of audiences at ease.
And it's not like people aren't buying OMN, you know... (especially considering Overexposed still selling, the fact the song has already passed 2 platinum status says very evidently it's not radio only pushing the song...).
Psy should release some English remix of his song.
That would guarantee him a number one, and a lot more radio AI.
I am surprised a very well educated in marketing man like Scooter Brown hasn't thought of this card.
With Bruno, Kesha, and Rihanna increasing daily, not to mention Taylor's dominance of the charts, chances for Psy to ever reach the top spot are just possibly gone by now.
Which I personally hope not, because as a not English speaking person I would love another Macarena-like song at number one on BBHot100 (and yes, I was there when the Macarena was at the top, so I know the feeling of pride it gave us foreign people watching the chart).
