If an artist who began their career creating a certain genre of music (hip-hop, country, alternative rock) goes pop, will that artist ever be able to go back to their original roots AND find success? Will they begin to flop if they don't only stick to pop music? By abandoning their core fanbase, will they ever be able to find success in their original genre?
