It's rare, but an example is Champagne Showers by LMFAO. It was released as the follow-up to Party Rock Anthem, and flopped almost everywhere in the world. The label didn't even bother releasing it in the US, because of how bad it did everywhere (they just skipped to Sexy and I Know It in the US).
If they were going to release a 6th single for Lady Gaga, it should've been Scheisse imo. I know it's got the "s-word" in multiple times, but so did Hollaback Girl and London Bridge, and they both got #1 and decent radio support. You just need a radio edit which mutes or replaces "scheisse/****".
