This week was pretty long waiting for CMB to play on radio. Why did they release it to radio a week later?

No idea. It would have helped to have the adds date be this past Monday so it could have sold some more. But it's ok. They must be going the longevity route.

This myth that stations aren't playing this song because they're waiting for the adds date is delusional and needs to stop.

A song gets sent to radio and can be played well before it's "official" impact date. MKIA was sent to radio 2 weeks before its adds date, and CMB just one week. Stations have the song, and nothing is stopping them from wanting to play it.

While I hope it starts to pick up on Monday/Tuesday, that is simply not a guarantee.

Just chill. MKIA headed a new era. It was the introduction to a whole new album. Kelly did a full round of promo for it and there was much more hype.

Not to mention that competition is damn intense at the moment with big players like Taylor, P!nk, Rihanna and Kesha all releasing new music.

CMB is more radio friendly than MKIA for sure. It will be fine. It's been out for like a week. Give it a couple more before you start calling flop.

I don't need to chill, I'm just being realistic. The ones who need to chill are the ones who keep complaining about the adds date, or the ones who somehow think stations are being forced not to play the song.

We just need to let the song grow and wait for the song to climb in the charts before having meltdowns imo

Oh okay, I was under the impression that the stations only have a stream copy from the radio premiere and not the actual digital copy sent from RCA..which is why they're not playing it until they get it on Monday?

i never said that someone was getting a MELTDOWN in this moment ( maybe i overreacted a little bit about this ) but yeah IA with that, i prefer a slow climber than a instant hit that free-falls in a few weeks

Stream copy is....say MKIA, they had the premiere of the song during that live stream thing, some radio stations ask for that stream copy to give their listeners an opportunity to get to know the song, before adding the actual digital HQ copy to their schedule
