Do you guys think she will release a ballad/mid-tempo as a second single, I mean thats what a lot of artist do.. like Katy, Pink, Rihanna (if you count WMN as mid-tempo)

I dont think so but i think she could as a 4th single hopefully. Even if it flops it would show the public a different side of her and should help increase album sales more than an uptempo song would.

"Die Young" wouldn't have peaked by the end of November, so sending out a new single, even if it doesn't blow up until after the holiday freeze, would kill "Die Young" before it reached maximum potential.

Early January release for the second single would be prime in my opinion.
