Will Gaga's debut era be remembered in music history?
Lady Gaga’s career debut is arguably the biggest since Britney Spears’ debut ten 10 earlier in 1998. With her debut album ‘The Fame’ + the re-release ‘The Fame Monster’ selling a total of 16,000,000 albums to date and the singles from the era selling 46,550,000 records worldwide, Lady Gaga became the world’s biggest superstar in recent memory with only 1.5 albums. Taking the world by storm in 2009 and 2010 (the years in which her debut era was active), Gaga managed to rack up 2 #1 hits in the US on the Hot 100, with the rest of her singles either peaking in the Top 5 or Top 10, as well as 7 back-to-back #1 hits on the US pop/radio/club charts, as well as the rest of her singles peaking at either at the top, or in the top 5 of the charts in the rest of the world. As well as chart dominance, Lady Gaga also became a huge internet and cultural sensation practically everywhere in the world, and was subsequently mobbed by fans and paparazzi everywhere she went. With this in mind, do you think that Gaga’s debut will be something that will be remembered forever in musical history?
