I got this topic to do an essay on and do a debate on this topic. Since this a music forum, I thought why not ask ATRL's opinion.


1.THEY'RE TALENTESS Just because you can put a catchy melody together and extend a song to four minutes doesn’t make you a great artist.

2.MAKING MONEY Instead of relying on the raw talent of performers, songwriters, and producers music executives decided music needed to become more about the revenue.

3.MEANINGLESS LYRICS "I'm sexy and I know it". Enough said.

So what do you think, do you agree with those arguments?

Kind of but not really. I feel like untalented popstars have always been around as madonnas said. I just think that making bad music is cool nowadays.

If you really can't find music with deeper, witty lyrics, and trying out new innovative instrumentation and sounds you need to turn off your top 40 radio for a second and look harder. There is still plenty of cool things happening in all genre's of music, you just don't see it in the billboard top 10 really.

One of my faves (September aka Petra Marklund) just released her new album and is sooo different. A very well done album for sure
