You cannot use inflation without taking into account economic factors such as the economy at the time, relative price, purchasing power, etc. You can compare ticket sales though - "My World" tour grossed $115.9 million from 131 shows (1,791,343 tickets sold.) 13,674 tickets per show. Compare that to Backstreet Boys' biggest tour grossing $89.8 million from 146 shows (1,463,458 tickets sold.) 6,136 tickets per show. Bieber wins.
Bieber could have a tour as big as "FutureSex/LoveShow," but $147.4 million grossed from 115 shows, 1,756,769 tickets sold, or 17,161 tickets per show isn't easily achievable unless you're Madonna, U2, or Gaga. Let's not go off-topic.

It's not only about the inflation, the tour "industry" was much different back then, for Christ's sake.

And their dominance wasn't even just about tour numbers, anyone who was over 10 years old around 97-00 knows that.
I still refuse to believe that you, someone who I consider to know so much about Pop Music, is trying to ignore the fact the BSB were
larger than life back then. Time to get da **** over this BSB/N'Sync feud, isn't it?
