It's probably a poor excuse I'm making but it makes sense to me

No, it's not a poor excuse.
"My Life Would Suck Without You" was Kelly returning to her massive anthem pop songs after a massively underperforming era at radio produced by some of the biggest hit makers - Of course radio was going to jump on that as fast as they could.
As for "Mr. Know It All":
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 0.008 (+ 0.008)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 0.008 (=)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 0.029 (+ 0.021)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 0.615 (+ 0.586)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 2.479 (+ 1.864)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 3.598 (+ 1.119)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 4.762 (+ 1.164)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 6.108 (+ 1.346)
KELLY CLARKSON - Mr. Know It All: 7.426 (+ 1.318) (Entered Top 50 on CHR/Pop)
I don't see this as being an immediate smash. Over half of the airplay was coming from HOT AC at the time anyway. And this was after Kelly had come off a successful radio era, and had been absent for ages.
"Catch My Breath", as stated above, has had no tome to gain any hype whatsoever due to the closeness of the release with the unfortunate chart run of "Dark Side".
I am in no way saying though that it
will be fine, or it will smash. I just think it's very, very premature to be worried at all. Add dates do give songs a push, whether you think so or not. Some songs just don't need one as much.
