It should but the problem is it might not qualify for pop vocal or if it does pop vocal is way too competitive.
They changed the dance category to reflect only "real" edm also
Super bass couldn't get nominated last year in best rap and this is even more pop
So I think it's more about the song not fitting into any category neatly
