Ultimately it's not his body; it's not his challenge; it's not his decision. As long as the father has the power to physically block himself off from the situation and leave the burden of raising a child up to the mother alone, he has no say in her choice of whether or not to abort.
Even if this type of situation isn't as common as the one you're setting up, one can't just go around setting exceptions. This is what's fair to the mother and child.

Obviously rape is an exception. I'm talking of say, a couple; the woman does not want to have the child, but the father does badly. Even though the woman would be carrying the child, is it really her right to terminate the child? It has to be their decision together. He might convince her, or she might convince him. But either way, it's not 100% the woman's say. If the father is in the picture, at least. If someone rapes her, he clearly has no right to say anything in the matter.
